Sabotage Missions

Launching the Mission:
After selecting a ship to launch from the launch screen, click on the 'sabotage mission' checkbox. This will automatically prepare the ship for a sabotage mission, which requires only 1 mech to carry out (you must have at least 1 mech on the planet to operate the ship). Note that ship shields (level I) research is required as well.

If you have researched the Cloaking Device you may check that box as well to maintain the element of surprise. When you successfully land the ship on an enemy planet you can order your mech to attack one of several sabotage targets. Alternatively, you can have your spies send back an intelligence report on the levels of offense and defense on the planet, along with exact troop and mech strengths. You will then be notified as to the mission's success (or failure, depending on the level of the planet's defenses), and any damage done. The success of the mission may be threatened by a number of factors, including the planet's population and whether any missile bases, planetary shields or scanners have been installed.

Planets that have been sabotaged will spend the rest of the turn with their security forces on high alert, making further missions to the same planet much less likely to succeed.

Ships on sabotage missions are marked with an "S" on your warp path, but your opponent will not see this identifier.

Repairing Industries That Have Been Sabotaged:
If any of your planets have been sabotaged and their resource production falls below 4 units/turn, you can rebuild your basic industrial facilities. If you had already built an Advanced Resource Production Facility, it will have been destroyed by the saboteurs and must be rebuilt.

*Note: you should repair your industries as much as possible before building another Advanced Resource Production Facility, as the Facility improves resource production as a percentage of the planet's current resource production.
